Julianna's Princess Day

Last weekend, Julianna got invited to spend the day with her friend, Lily Grace. It worked wonderful for us since we had 3 basketball games and a Science Fair project to do, so we knew she'd have a lot more fun than with us.

Within the hour of dropping her off, Rachael was already texting us with funny photos of the girls. They absolutely had a blast. They played for a couple of hours, and then they dressed up and went to the Tea Room in Springfield. Rachael took these pictures with her phone so they aren't the highest quality but they are so cute that I had to post them!

This is the first picture I got in a text with a caption that stated Rachael had never heard so much giggling! We were just hoping that is not how they were "dressing up" for the Tea Room!

Sweet Lily Grace

Goofy Julianna

We were so pleased when this picture came across our phones! The sweetest thing about this was that Rebecca noticed right away that Julianna's hair was curled and Christian said, "Wow, she looks beautiful!" Isn't that precious??

The older girl is a neighbor who came over to help with make up and hair. They really had a great time!

Of course Julianna asked if they could do a silly picture. We have a silly picture after every picture we take!

This is the girls at the Tea Room. They had their Sprite in a tea pot and were taught the etiquette of tea!!

Enjoying lunch

The girls had so much fun and decided to make a night of it. This was the final picture Rachael sent me before night time. Julianna had such a special time with a very special friend. Thank you Ms. Rachael and Lily Grace!!!

PTL - Science Fair is over!

This is it (at least for about 5 years). At the kids school, they do a science fair project when they are in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. We hate them. We end up helping them lots because they just aren't ready for this....i won't get on my soap box. But i will tell you that as of about 5pm today, we are officially done with Science Fair projects until Julianna hits 3rd grade here (unless she's not at this school).

So here is Rebecca with her final project. WHEW!!! Thank you, Lord!!!

Happy Mardi Gras

I was in Kroger the other day and saw King Cakes that were brought in from Louisiana. I always hear my sister talking about celebrating Mardi Gras and I thought it would be fun to at least have a King Cake on Fat Tuesday with my family. I had to have Rachel email information about the history of the King Cake, but we did enjoy it together. Julianna didn't eat her dinner so she didn't get any on Tuesday night, but the rest of us did and no one found the baby. We all thought it was a great idea to have it for breakfast this morning, which we did and wiped it out. And low and behold.........

Yummy - it doesn't get much better than cinnamon bread with lots of icing and sugar!!!

Hmmmm......what is that gold thing there?

Yep, it was little Julianna who got the baby this year!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

I have explained this before, but for Valentine's Day, I use this as an opportunity to show my family how much I love them. For some reason, the kids love to have a "fancy" meal, so I break out the fine china and crystal glassware and make a yummy meal. This year, we have been about Italian'd out, so we went with homemade yummy Chinese food. We had chicken stir-fry, fried rice, egg drop soup and I even went to the local Chinese restaurant and picked up some really good egg rolls. After dessert, I usually give them a small gift and a card! So that's our Valentine's Day!

The table all decked out and fancy!

This is the second shot of about 20 tries to get a good picture - if it's good of one, then someone else has their eyes closed. This is okay but I got tired of going through them all to find the best one! :-)

Our Big January Snow

As probably most of my readers (like all 10 of you family members!!), we got a big snow down here in the South in January. It was very exciting and fun and the kids got out of school a good bit because of it. It started snowing on Friday night and we woke up to a little over 4 inches on Saturday morning. Of course I went overboard on pictures so I had to break this blog up into different days, but you should enjoy all the pictures and even a funny story or two!!

Julianna had a blast on the slide and landing in the snow!

Love this picture - Rebecca has the LONGEST eyelashes and I think Christian threw snow in her face and the snow froze to her eyelashes!! :-)

Still loving the slide

Not real happy here (check the below blog about why) :-)

My 3 kiddos!

Love the matching hats!!

Julianna got the free ride up the hill and home!

Maggie was NOT happy about the snow as you can imagine - had to be cold on her belly!

Julianna's Snow Adventure

This sequence of pictures is just TOO funny so I had to put them in their own posting. This is day one of the big snow and we were out in the back yard. We have a very slight hill in our back yard so Matthew got out the sled and thought we could try to sled down it. Who wants to go first??? Well, of course Julianna gets that chance. All I want you to do is scroll down these pictures, especially the few in the middle. The more you do it, the more you'll laugh. (At least I do). It's just too funny.

I know, I know....everyone will say "Poor Julianna" but it was and still is the funniest thing. We have no idea why the sled just stopped and she kept going but poor thing, it scared her to death and she was NOT happy. It took her a long time before she was willing to do anything else in the snow. But oh my gosh - it was funny!!!

Snow Day #2

When we woke up on Sunday, there was more snow and the sun was shining. Since we didn't have church, we all bundled up about mid-morning and heading out to play. It actually felt warmer than the day before so we shed a few layers. The snow was also wetter so we were able to have snowball fights and make a snowman. We also headed down the street to the hill and sled some since that road was basically all ice. It proved to be another fun day in the snow in Tennessee!

They were already throwing snowballs by the time I got out with the camera

Go, Rebecca - get Dad!

Julianna was trying to dodge Christian's snowballs

Go, Julianna - get Christian!

Dad's usually right in the middle of it all!

Building our snowman

Matthew had to teach them how to roll the snow

The kids had a snowball fight with the 2 boys across the street - that was funny!

Julianna loved our snowman - she thought it was funny that he was taller than her!

Christian

Matthew - he really knows how to make and throw snowballs!
