Fall Break 2010

During Fall Break this year, we took a couple of days and headed to the lake. We love to go there and it's such a great get-away place for us. We had awesome weather and enjoyed some time outside and relaxing inside. It was just what we needed, although it didn't seem long enough. We didn't take tons of pictures except when we went on a walk but I'll share what I have.

Matthew wanted to cut the grass and asked Julianna if she wanted to ride with him. Much to our surprise, she did!

And she enjoyed it!

This is the lake front of the Warren's property. Obviously the water is down, but the trees were pretty and we liked this picture!

The kids enjoy walking around where we are using riding over it with a boat!

Gotta have your walking stick!

Another pretty picture in the cove

Matthew & Maggie

We thought this was pretty cool to see all of the roots of the trees that are normally under water

At first we thought these markings in the water were from snakes, so we were very careful...

Goofy Julianna

Then we discovered it was these little critters that were making these marks so we felt better

Rebecca got quite muddy

Yucky! So did Julianna's shoes

Matthew spent a little time withe Rebecca and worked on her throwing a football

She actually did pretty well

But then the competition begins....

Excited about a ride....

Having fun....

Look at Julianna - obviously something went wrong and it was not as much fun!

Christian's best hope of a car!

Time for a Haircut!

Julianna wants "Rapunzel Hair". She wants it to be very very long. Unfortunately, however, Julianna has hair similar to her Mom's - Fine.

She had school pictures and we couldn't get it cut before them but we insisted that she get it cut. She was not happy about it at all. But we promised her that she could continue to let it grow out and long, but it had to be straightened up.

Here are her before pictures (surprisingly, she's smiling!)

Here are the after pictures!

Yes, it's not that dramatic of a change but it was for her. However, we ran into Walmart after the haircut and she was stopping men in the cake isle telling them that she's just has her hair cut! So all is well!

Our sweet & silly Julianna

As I'm going through my pictures to blog, I kept running across these funny pictures of Julianna so I just decided to post them. I hope they make you smile!

Julianna's school had Homecoming week and they had silly hat day. This was Julianna's - everyone loved it, but I don't think it lasted on her at school very long.

Julianna was with me when I went back to the Elementary school to help with their school pictures (don't ask me why!) She was so funny and here she is during her lunch break!

One day of the days Julianna was not in school, she called me into the Den and said, "Mom, come in here and bring your camera!"

This is Julianna's sweet friend, Angela

Julianna certainly knows how to do the silly pose!

Angela catches on...

A friend tried to give me a quick lesson on french braiding and here's how I did. Not toooo bad!

My friend Rachael invited Julianna to go to Monkey Joe's before school started for Lily Grace (who started Kindergarten). I received this picture in an text on my phone. Such silly girls!

Minute to Win It

Our Connect Group at church had a fellowship one night at the church. My friend Heather did a GREAT job of getting all of these games together. She used "minute to win it" games (I think from the TV show) and had all sorts of games for all ages. We divided into teams and each game had 60 seconds for you to win.

I took tons of pictures but chose to post on here the ones that our family was involved in. I did miss a great picture of Rebecca in one of her games but got some of her in others.

Christian had a tennis ball in the pantyhose and had to knock over full water bottles without using his hands.

Being creative with pantyhose

This was so funny. The guys put vaseline on their noses and had to collect as many cotton balls on their nose and run to deposit them in a bowl. Very funny

Julianna played, too. There was a full deck of cards on a mason jar and they had to blow them off until the person closest to leaving one card on the jar won - Cameron beat her by a second - he had one card and she had 2. She did great!

Go Julianna!

I'm there on the right. We had to roll marbles down the floor trying to knock over a pencil that is standing up. It was hard but fun and I eventually accomplished it!

All these kids were given 3 Saltines and the first person to finish eating them without water won.

Rebecca and her friend, Braden work hard to swallow - that's pretty hard!

Julianna's team won and she is showing off her winnings!

Fun at Preschool

Julianna is in preschool 3 days a week this year at Christian Community School. She loves it and is doing so well. We're really proud of her. Her teachers took pictures of the kids to put up on their door and it was such an awesome picture that I asked them to email it to me. Isn't this great? I just had to share it!!

They had a Bike Rodeo at her school one day. I wasn't able to stay for it but my sweet friend, Doreen took some pictures for me. They brought their bikes and helmets (we had to borrow both because she doesn't have either) and the White House police & fire department were there teaching bike safety, etc.

Julianna in the bike line

They set up a little course for the kids to ride their bikes through...

Finishing up. Julianna loved it - guess she'll be getting a bike for her birthday!

Our County held a "B Team" volleyball tournament this year - the first one they've done. They also have an "A Team" tournament held on a different night. We were the 2nd seed in the county so we had a game, then a bye and played in the championship game that night. We lost but the girls played so hard. We are proud of our team and it was a great way to end Rebecca's first Middle School volleyball season!

Rebecca warms up with the coach

Getting ready to serve during the game (notice her wrapped fingers??? She broke her pinky this season! - Yes, we're still paying for that x-ray!!!)

The team ready to receive the serve

What a cutie!

After their first win!

The "A Team" really supported our girls!

Our whole team during the awards ceremony - they were sad they didn't win but they played well.
