A Birthday Celebration

So in my previous post, I shared I wasn't so thrilled about turning 40. Well, fortunately I was in good company. I have 2 other sweet friends who go to church with me that turned 40 within weeks of me. Doreen's birthday was November 26th and Heather's was December 1st. So we decided we would go out together and celebrate - just us girls.

I had grand plans of trying something new and different, but every thing I tried kept falling apart. I thought it would be so fun to go to a Line Dancing club and have a little fun. The first one was going to perfect, except that the 3rd Thursday of every month is Fight Night..... so that didn't work. Then I thought we might try a bigger one in downtown Nashville, but of course on that one night, they were having some huge concert and they weren't doing the line dancing.

So I gave up. It was an extremely busy week for me anyway and I was so stressed out, I almost canceled it. That of course stressed out Doreen, which later I found out why.....she had rented a Limousine for us to go out in but wanted to surprise us. So after Christian's basketball game, I came home and changed and the girls picked me up - much to my surprise in the limo!!! They'd both been in limos before, but not me. It was my first time.

It was a fun night - we had different adventures since we were "winging it" and spent a little more time in the limo trying to find a place to eat, but we finally settled on a Japanese Steakhouse and had a wonderful time.

I am thankful for dear friends here. Maybe 40 won't be so bad after all with friends like these!!

Happy Halloween!!!

As usual, we waited until the last minute to figure out what the kids were going to wear for Halloween. Although everyone was pleased by the time we left to go trick or treating!

My three cuties!

Rebecca is the Jack of Hearts. I think she looks awesome. My Mom made this costume for me when I was in the 7th grade. Matthew whipped together her accessory in no time and she looked awesome!!

Christian was a crazed US Soccer fan, complete with the vuvuzela!

Matthew did his make up and hair - looked great!

Julianna went with the Pooh Bear costume - she didn't like the makeup but looked so cute!

Over the Hill

So it finally happened - I turned 40. Something I'd been dreading for a long time. But of course it's not like I could do anything about it.

It was quite low key at my house - no real celebrating either way.....

My sweet friend, Doreen came by at lunch time and brought us lunch. That was definitely a highlight of my day.

Boring blog....just felt I needed to finally admit it!! :-(

Thanks, Doreen!!!

We took a couple of pictures that night!

Silly of course....

Still being a little silly......

And again......

Okay - finally!

Murfreesboro Soccer Tournament

Our final soccer tournament of this 2010 Fall Season was held in Murfreesboro on Halloween weekend. We had our first game on Saturday morning at 8am....which meant we had to be there at 7:15am.....which meant we had to leae our house at 6am!!!! Not quite the idea start to a weekend, especially since it was totally FREEZING and there was frost all over the place. However, the sun eventually came out and warmed us all up a bit....

We played 2 games on Saturday and won them both and then we won our Sunday morning game, which meant we won first place in our age bracket. We were so proud of the boys and how they played and what a great way to finish off the season!! And now we can enjoy a little break from soccer........

I can't help it - this little girl is just the cutest thing ever!!!

Girls go to the Circus

A friend of mine told me she was taking her granddaughter and friend to go to the Circus and wanted to know if Julianna wanted to go. I knew she'd want to go but since she'd never gone, I wasn't sure how she'd do. So Rebecca went along with them to make sure Julianna was okay and also to be my photographer.

Before the zoo, they went to a park and played around. Rebecca got some cute pictures of them there.

Julianna, Keeley and Anna Belle (in the hippo!)

Fun on the slide!

Love Julianna's look

Julianna's FAVORITE part was the acrobats - she told me all about it.

They loved this little mini pony

They stopped and ate out on the way. Both girls had a great time and I'm so glad Julianna had the opportunity to hang out with these sweet girls.
