Junior Beta Club Induction

Christian was invited to join the Junior Beta Club this year. They had an induction and it was very neat to see so many middle schoolers inducted into this society that is for kids with good grades and good character.

Rebecca's Field Day

The 5th graders had a big Field Day at a local park this year and I signed up to help. I helped with the 50 meter run and so I sent my camera around with a Mom whose daughter was in Rebecca's grouping!! I was very thankful she was willing to take some pictures for me.

Rebecca and some of her friends from school - aren't they cute girls??

Rebecca did really well in the Hula Hoop contest

Rebecca & Madelyn

This was Rebecca doing the running long jump. She jumped 9 ft. 5 inches. I heard quite a few people talking about what a great jump it was. We definatly think she's got track & field in her future!!!

Convention in Memphis

I had the privilege to serve as a delegate to the PEO State Convention this year in Memphis. I went with a sweet lady, Linda and we had a very nice time together. On the way home, we stopped by Justin & Mandy's for like 15 minutes but long enough for hugs and kisses and a few pictures. I wanted to post some of these cute pictures.....

The Bobcat Prowl

I've written about the Bobcat Prowl before - it's a fundraiser at the Elementary school they do each year. Once again, we come to the part of the year where Rebecca is hitting her "last" of everything at the Elementary School. Man, that's hard to believe.

So here it is - the Last Bobcat Prowl pictures (at least for a couple more years!)

Rebecca & her friend Sarah

A Few other Easter Pictures

On Easter Sunday, while our friends the McDonald's were here, we had Jenn McDonald, Ryan's sister who lives in Nashville, come over for lunch. She's a photographer and so she took a few pictures of us that afternoon. Here were a few she sent me that I thought I'd show - they're cute! Thanks, Jenn!

Our family

All of us - the Warrens & the McDonalds

Love this picture of Julianna - she didn't want to participate in the pictures earlier, but she and Jenn clicked so then she let Jenn take a few of her.

What a bunch of cuties!!!

Great pyramid, kids!!!!

Another Art Fair at school

This was Rebecca's last year to put art in the Elementary school art fair. She put 3 pieces in at school and 2 of them placed. All 3 of her entries made it to the County Art Fair and for the first time since she has won since 2nd grade, she did not place at the County level. We continue to remind her that art is subjective (she gets that speech every year on the way to the County Art Fair) and she was fine. With her doing oil painting this year, she limited herself to that category and just didn't win.

Next year is different - if you want to put something in the fair as a middle schooler, it goes straight into the County Fair. We looked at a lot of the middle school work from this year and if she really wants to work at it next year, she'll do well. Either way, we are so very proud of her and her accomplishments in her art work!

First place in drawing (this is an oil pastel she free hand drew of a Willow Tree Angel)

2nd place on her 2nd oil painting she's done

Harpeth Soccer Tournament

Before I tell you about our soccer tournament, I want to show you something amazing. Most of you know about the Flood in Middle Tennessee last weekend. I found this picture (below) on the soccer website of the Tournament we played in.

These are the fields - somewhere under there - WAY under there. There's no way to convey this scene unless you've been there and know where the fields are and how high this water is. Hopefully the fields weren't completely destroyed..... Anyway, wanted you to see.. (You'll note my comment a few pictures down - notice the guard rail in this picture)

We went to Harpeth Tournament in Bellevue and did well. We played 3 strong matches and came away as the 1st Place Champions. It was a lot of fun (it always is when you win, right?) and we are very proud of our team! Way to go Revolution!

Love this picture of Christian - relaxed and smiling at his teammates

***That's it - look above Christian - that's the same guard rail in the flooded picture - do you see how high that water was??? Still unbelievable!

Love this picture of my men!

Another Flower Girl

As most of you know (since I'm sure it's only family reading this), Christian & Rebecca had many opportunities when they were younger to be in weddings - Christian was a bell ringer and a ring bearer multiple times and Rebecca a beautiful flower girl. It was an honor for them to do this and I always felt a little sad that Julianna might not get that opportunity.

Well, she did get that chance. Our worship leaders came to the church as a young, engaged couple and are precious to our family & our church. They asked if Julianna could be their flower girl and we were so excited to let her do it. She just adores Taylor & Emily.

We pulled out old pictures of Rebecca as a flower girl and videos and books on it - because we all know how Julianna can be. Well, when it came down to it, she did perfectly and was the most beautiful flower girl ever (other than her own sister, of course!!) :-)

As silly as she can be when a camera is pulled out, she did WONDERFUL this day and I got tons of beautiful pictures of her. So I must share them with you!!

The gorgeous bride, Emily & Julianna in the waiting room right before the ceremony

Julianna did a great job dropping the petals

We don't have a single serious picture of Julianna without a silly picture in there, too!

Beautiful!

Julianna hit it off immediately with Rachel, one of Emily's bridesmaids.

Emily, Julianna & Jonathan Taylor

It didn't take much for Julianna to convince even the bride & groom to take a silly picture!

Daddy's Little Girl

My sweet baby girl

Daddy even danced with his darling girl at the reception - how could he say no to her???
