Morgan's competition

These pictures are from Morgan's gymnastics competition. You can't use flash photography during the competition so my pictures aren't the greatest, but I tried to show you some of my favorites.

This is Morgan!

Morgan & her team being announced

There was a long pause before he floor routine and her coach came over and talked to her while they waited. I thought this was cute!

Morgan's floor routine

This was Morgan on the beam. She was the first to go and during the warm up's, she continued to fall off and was in tears. This apparatus has been the "thorn in her flesh this season." Rebecca and I spent a little quite time in prayer for Morgan before she started.... And Morgan did beautifully.

She came in FIRST on the beam - meaning she is the state champ on the beam (for the second year in a row, might I add) in her age division. Way to go, Morgan!!

Morgan's team came in first place all around!

It was so much fun to get to be a part of this and share these couple of days with Morgan & Brandi!!!

A trip to Memphis

The day after we returned to from our Spring Break trip to Mimi's, Rebecca & I jumped in a car with Brandi & Morgan and headed to Memphis. Morgan is a gymnast and this was her final competition of the season - the State Championship Competition.

It was so much fun - totally a girls weekend. It was a quick trip - we drove there on Thursday and went to the competition on Friday and headed home that afternoon but it was great. Here are some fun pictures of our time in Memphis.

The 3 hour trip flew by with iPods in hand!

Having arrived in the hotel!

We ran in a shop on our way to dinner and the girls had a little fun!

We ate a Huey's Downtown and this is Rebecca attempting to get her toothpick in the ceiling!

Morgan's attempt.....

Brandi got her before anyone else!!

One of Rebecca's ricocheted off the ceiling and landed in the coke container!

See the toothpick in the sugar container? That's where one of Morgan's landed....but that's at the table behind us and there were people sitting there!! HAHA!

Rebecca at the gift shop in the Peabody Hotel with Elvis glasses on...notice the lips!

Same thing with Morgan - they are so funny!

The girls just like getting their pictures taken!

Near Beale street!

In the glass elevator on the way up to our room - you can see the lights of the Bridge!

Brandi dropped her phone in the potty so she's trying to get it dried out.... it worked!!

Before the competition - we walked down the street for breakfast and took this quick picture before we headed back to get ready!

Spreak Break with Mimi

My Mom, the 3 kids and I went to Charlottesville, Va to spend a couple of days with my Mimi during our spring break. We certainly were a change to her quiet days and we certainly filled up her apartment, but we had a wonderful visit. One of our highlights was going to Bingo on Monday night. The kids were so excited since I'd told them that Papa used to take us to Monday night Bingo. We had a great few days there and I'm so glad we went. It was great to spend time with Mom in the car and with Mimi while we were there and the kids loved it, too. Here are a few pictures from our time there.

Christian won the first hand of Bingo. Here he is with his winning hand and the money he won - he won $2.00! Mimi won the 2nd hand, Christian won the 5th and the 9th also. He was thrilled and walked away with $6.00 in his pocket. Poor Rebecca didn't win any hands (neither did I!) and my sweet Mimi shared her winnings with Rebecca. (She also shared some of her extra coins with them the next day and they were beside themselves!!)

Rebecca was cleaning her nail polish off and Mimi said she likes the clear polish and offered to pain the girls nails. Love this picture!!

Julianna shows off her painted nails

The kids loved Mimi's fancy keyboard and played it a bunch - I LOVED it because it had plug in earphones!!!!!

Christian & I went to pick up a pizza one night - look at this thing!!! It was unbelievable and tasted even better!!!

A trip to Monticello

We decided to get out on Tuesday and go to Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's home). I have been there a few times in my life but this was the kids first time. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed being out in the sunshine.

While waiting for the bus to take us to the house, we had to get a picture with Mr. Jefferson!

On the bus ride

The kids in front of the gardens - so beautiful

At the front of Monticello - before the tour began (I couldn't take pictures inside)

After the tour, we could walk around and see a few other things on our own - here is Christian, Rebecca & me on the back side of the house

My Mom, Nonie, with the big kids

While we walked around, Mimi & Julianna sat together and waited. I thought this was a cute picture, especially with the beautiful mountains in the background.

Julianna wanted this picture taken of her and her doll that we got her from the gift shop

Spring Break - visiting Christina

We were also able to drop in and visit Christina & her family briefly on our way to Mimi's. We were so glad it worked out for our kids to see each other - it's been a long time. We visited about 40 minutes before we hit the road, but the kids warmed up quickly to each other and it was hard to pull them away and leave.

It was another great visit with a great friend that I love and miss dearly!!!

Katie & Christina

We pulled out one of Christina's scrapbook and found this picture and made the kids sit in the same positions. Boy, time sure changes these kiddos, huh?
